About Me
I became interested in photography when I was 13 as a byproduct of my passion for astronomy and astrophotography. Astrophotography ranges from simple star trails to deep space astrophotography (what I would deem the most difficult kind of photography one can do, more here). After learning my camera (then a Nikon F2) and LX200, I started to branch out into traditional photography around my home and on family vacations. I have had my work published by the Audubon Society Friends of Hog Island newsletter after studying the birds of the area.
I also enjoy astronomy, biking, science, hiking, travel, and just general exploring. I won 3rd place at the national science Olympiad competition at Ohio State in bird studies and have had the great experience of studying birds alongside the biggest names in the subject including Kenn Kaufman and Scott Weidensaul at Hog Island, once on a scholarship from the Atlanta Audubon Society and again independently.
I was born in Brookfield, WI in 1987 and moved to Peachtree City, GA in 1994. I currently live in Milledgeville, GA and am a senior biology major at Georgia College & State University. I currently shoot for my university newspaper, The Colonnade, in my free time.
